Retrain Your Brain: Conquer 4 Common Fears

Retrain Your Brain: Conquer 4 Common Fears
There are certain elements in your life that you would rather pass on because of the amount of fear that accompanies those elements.

The things that cause you fear may be far different than what your sibling, friend or significant other is afraid of.

However, did you know that are several common fears amongst everyone?

One of the most reassuring feelings is knowing that you're not the only one who is experiencing these common fears. This may allow you to breathe a little easier as you move past the fear and into a positive light.

One of the most common fears is the fear of failure.

This fear can eat away at you so much to the point where you don't want to try anything new because you're afraid you won't succeed. This could be if you're looking to take a new job, going back to school, or single-handedly managing a huge task.

How do you get around this fear?

What helps in situations like this is to logically go over in your head what the worst thing is that could happen if you don't do as well as you would have liked.

Will the world end? Probably not.

Will you get fired? No.

Will you feel a little down on yourself? Sure.

Knowing that this feeling will come and go may make you feel a little better. You shouldn't waste your energy beating yourself up over it.

What about the fear of embarrassment? Is this just as common?

At some point in your life you've probably felt so embarrassed that you never wanted to show your face to the public again. Your face becomes red, your palms begin to sweat and you instantly run for the hills.

Relax, we've all been there. Even though you can't change the moment that made you embarrassed, the best thing you can do is laugh.
