What happens after a young person recovers from an eating disorder?

Treatment, therapy and recovery don’t automatically turn you into an empowered adult who has everything together. You may still have anorexic thinking. There may be some unknown triggers for your anorexia. There is no age limit to anorexia.

Group therapy may not be the place for you as an adult. Your maternal instinct for the younger set could make it difficult for you to feel like you’re among peers.

Let’s be honest. Losing weight and being thin gets attention, even if it’s the result of an eating disorder. That can feel very powerful.
