Uterine fibroids are benign, non-cancerous, growths — within or on the muscular walls of the uterus or womb. As many as 20 to 40 percent of women over the age of 35 have fibroids. They can be caused by a combination of genetic, hormonal or environmental factors; however the true cause is unknown.

Although Dr. Tran, DO, was born in Vietnam, she grew up in Torrance, CA and received her bachelor’s degree locally at UC, Irvine before moving to Missouri to attend A.T. Still University. After receiving her medical degree from their Kiksville College of Osteopathic Medical School, she completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
