He truly believes that everyone deserves to feel healthy, happy, and comfortable in their own skin and that no one should feel stuck, bogged down, or trapped by their own poor health. After realizing that he was living an unhealthy life—causing him to be overweight, run down, and suffer from poor digestion and a toxic liver—he discovered a better way of eating and that changed his life and the course of his career.

In 2013 he left his catering business where he cooked for celebrities like Barbara Streisand and Danny DeVito to explore new opportunities along with a healthier and more purposeful life. He started a new business in a health and wellness product company that led to learning a lot about nutrition which unleashed a passion for exploring clean, healthful cooking. His on-going love affair with food and nutrition has sparked the growth of his business and changed his overall approach to life and health. Today, Harvey Slater is a certified Holistic Nutritionist, Weight Management Consultant, chef, and blogger. He works and resides in the Pasadena and San Gabriel Mountain region of Los Angeles, California

In his practice, Harvey uses a practical, whole-food approach to achieving a sustainable healthy-eating lifestyle with a focus on facilitating positive change in people’s health. His primary focus now is helping his clients understand their unique bodies and how to feed themselves in the most optimal way possible. He teaches his clients how to re-learn food by getting a divorce from the bad foods that hurt them and creating a love affair with the delicious, satisfying foods that contribute to good health.
  • Topic Info:We often associate the word diet with short-term weight loss programs, but the dictionary defines diet as habitual nourishment.

This is the basis for Harvey Slater’s nutrition coaching practice. A diet is something you’re on for the entirety of your life, so Slater insists that you better like the foods you’re eating.

A former chef and caterer, Slater became a Certified Nutrition Consultant, Applied Clinical Nutritionist, Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant and Certified Weight Management Specialist who focuses on helping people lose weight through delicious, healthy recipes. His program has no hard and fast rules nor does it eliminate any food groups. Instead, he helps clients create small, achievable goals and meal plans specific to their bodies’ needs.
