Asperger's syndrome is a type is pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) that involves the delay of the development of skills, including socializing and communicating.

The exact cause of Asperger's is unknown, but doctors believe that it tends to run in families. Evidence of the syndrome is usually not recognizable until after the age of six.

What are some of the symptoms of Asperger's?

Symptoms can vary from mild to severe and are different for each person. These symptoms include repetitive behaviors, problems with social skills, communication difficulties, limited range of interests, coordination problems, and being highly skilled in a particular area.
