OWNing Your Diabetes

Diabetes is one of the most prominent diseases in society today and is rapidly increasing with each new day. In fact, according to the American Diabetes Association, 25.8 million adults and children in the U.S. have diabetes, which accounts for 8.3 percent of the population.

Natalie Strand, MD, Medical Director at Freedom Pain Hospital and winner of CBS's The Amazing Race, is part of that statistic. She was diagnosed with diabetes, and after learning to live her life all over again, she wanted to help and empower those of you who are just like her.

Throughout the book, Dr. Strand highlights "OWNing" your diabetes, with the O-W-N being capitalized. What does this mean?
  • Opening up about your diabetes
  • Winning with diabetes
  • Never a victim, always a victor
Strand joins Dr. Mike to discuss her personal journey through diabetes, the reasoning behind writing her book, and how you can OWN diabetes.
