Women have come a long way professionally; but the challenges and inequality that women face in the workplace are still prevalent.
Many of the largest issues in the workplace revolve around gender.
Females still earn less than males holding the same job, which raises the question: will we ever be able to eliminate the gender pay gap?
Pay is not the only issue, however. The line can sometimes be blurred between what is professional and inappropriate in the workplace. Many women experience unacceptable language or advances. There can often be ominous outcomes from sexual or romantic relationships.
Women also still struggle with the decision of whether to start a family, as well as dress codes, sexual harassment and verbal bullying.
Recent studies show that between 40-70% of women and 10-20% of men have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace, and that is only from those who have come forward.
Monica Wofford is an internationally known author of leadership development books, including Make Difficult People Disappear. In this segment she explains the challenges faced in the workplace today and how to handle the many forms of harassment.
