Kerry Bajaj is a Certified Health Coach at the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center. She works one-on-one with patients to create healing plans based on nutrient-dense whole foods. She helps patients achieve their health goals including weight loss, improved digestion, stress reduction and exercise. Kerry works with a wide range of patients but is particularly fascinated by digestion and digestive health. As a vegetarian, she is also able to provide support around thriving on a plant-based diet. Kerry is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and is certified by Columbia University Teachers College in holistic health. She has been mentored in functional medicine under Dr. Frank Lipman since 2010. She has run four marathons, is a certified yoga teacher and regularly writes about health and wellness.

The sweet stuff is not so sweet when it comes to your health.

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the average adult in the United States takes in 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day, or a whopping 150 pounds a year. Teens are even worse, piling in a whopping 34 teaspoons a day.

Sugar contributes to weight gain, pre-diabetes and can take a toll on your overall appearance.
