Arlene Blix is a registered nurse with a doctorate in public health and a specialty in health promotion. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Arlene's career has been as a professor of nursing at California State University, Fullerton Department of Nursing. She was a frequent guest lecturer in my areas of expertise within the community college and California university systems.

Arlene has been active within the professions of nursing, public health, and occupational health and have given hundreds of presentations/workshops/keynote addresses at local, regional, state and international conferences.

Arlene shares her expertise on numerous committees at the local, state, and federal levels in health promotion and occupational health. She provided community service including lay presentations, interviews on local public radio and TV, health workshops, and volunteered for the Trauma Intervention Program. She is author of the book, Blindsided: A Journey of Love, Loss, Grief, and Survival.

Divorced & Depressed. Now What?
A study published in the "Mental Health Practice" journal found that a person working through the different stages of grief – from divorce or other types of loss - may unpredictably bounce around, popping back and forth between shock, anger or depression.
