5 Ways to Care for a Neglected Dog
Have you taken a stray into your home or adopted a dog that was mistreated or neglected by its owner?

Adopting a dog can be a joyful experience for both you and the dog.

However, you may have concerns about bringing in a dog that may have issues, like separation anxiety, high energy, or one that has been mistreated.

Adopting a neglected or abused dog will require love, patience, and positive, gentle training; even moving slowly around the dog at first.

Rescuing an animal from a dire situation is a positive thing to do, but it will take the dog (and you) time to adjust.

Darlene Arden, CABC, shares the five things to remember when caring for a neglected dog.
