Takeout Food: How to Eat Healthier

Takeout Food: How to Eat Healthier
Typical takeout food is high in fat, calories and sodium.

Is it possible to order takeout and not end up in a food coma?

Thankfully, with a little bit of effort, you can.

Eating is a mindset. With takeout you just need to know your options and how to work with different types of cuisines.

Don't feel bad if you tweak the menu and stay on the phone for a few minutes longer; most places are willing to accommodate you.

Tips: If you ask for your sauce on the side you can significantly cut calories. If you also ask for your protein to be "dry," that is restaurant code for no extra butter and/or oil.

Robyn Youkilis, AADP and board certified Wellness Expert, provides suggestions on how to make better-informed choices with common delivery food meals and snacks.
