Are All Diets Created Equal?

Are All Diets Created Equal?
Does it really matter what type of diet you go on? After all, aren't they all supposed to help you lose weight?

The short of the answer is that all diets are NOT created equal.

But, don't stop reading there.

It just adds to the confusion when you have what seems to be an endless supply of choices: Paleo, high protein, low carb, low fat, Atkins, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers... the list goes on, and on. And on.

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published a study suggesting that you can go on any diet and lose weight, as long as you create a calorie deficit. All of the diets are just different ways to restrict calories.

In this study, weight loss differences between individual diets were rather small, and there were no long-term differences in those diets.
