Why do I keep getting yeast infections?

Yeast infections can be uncomfortable and embarrassing to discuss, even with your doctor. There are so many reasons why you could be having a reoccurring yeast infection, and the most common reasons can be from oral or vaginal sex, condoms, or lubricants. However, you can also get a yeast infection from the following factors:

  • Your boyfriend could be part of the problem
  • Your DNA could be working against you
  • You could be pregnant
  • You might be approaching menopause
  • Your immune system may be compromised
  • You might have high blood sugar
  • You might need a longer treatment

Can certain foods cause you to break out?

In a short answer, YES! Eating certain types of food groups can be a contributing factor to your acne. If you're breaking out more often than usual, try to stay away from sweets, greasy foods, or dairy.

Should I work out when I'm sick?

You might be surprised to learn that you can work out when you're sick; it just depends on your symptoms. The common rule doctors advise by is known as the "below-the-neck" rule.

If you have symptoms above your neck, such as runny nose, sore throat, and sneezing, then it's perfectly fine to work out at a moderate level. However, if your symptoms are below your neck, like intense coughing, vomiting, fever, or diarrhea, then it's best that you skip the gym and let your illness run its course.
