Chronic Kidney Disease: Is Home Dialysis an Option?
According to Brigitte Schiller, MD, Satellite Healthcare Chief Medical Officer, chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects one in nine Americans (26 million people), yet only about 10 percent of U.S. patients in need of dialysis undergo home dialysis.

But, home dialysis is gaining popularity as more people are made aware of its advantages.

What are some of those advantages?

Home dialysis patients live longer, enjoy better outcomes and reduce the cost of healthcare.

Satellite Healthcare's Wellbound Centers are leading the industry in home dialysis and pre-dialysis education, focusing on personalized self-care training for home dialysis patients as well as on expert pre-dialysis patient wellness education.

Recently, Satellite recently participated in a week-long Santa Clara County (California) “Freedom Tour," featuring home hemo dialysis patient, Elias Arciniega, to promote the benefits and increased quality of life for patients dependent on dialysis due to end-stage kidney disease.

Listen in as Dr. Schiller shares more about home hemo dialysis, as well as the awareness Satellite is raising about home dialysis options.
