EP 74 - Chronic Lyme & Modern Medicine: One Woman's Story
Adrienne Nolan-Smith has had her fair share of health challenges. At a young age, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Unfortunately, the infection became chronic before the diagnosis, which meant that the typical antibiotic regimen did not work.

Finally, after changes in diet combined with alternative and integrative approaches such as herbal medicine and acupuncture, Adrienne recovered fully from Lyme.

Another health struggle that she encountered was amenorrhea (abnormal loss of menstruation). While conventional doctors tried to convince her going on the birth control pill was the answer, Adrienne knew that wasn't an answer. She sought out integrative health professionals once again and after six months of alternative-based treatment, her period returned.

Through all her different experience with integrative health professionals and upon learning certain undesirable elements surrounding her initial career within the healthcare industry, she founded WellBe, a wellness media company focused on the intersection between wellness and healthcare. Per the WellBe website (getwellbe.com), the company's goal is to "inform, inspire, and empower you to take control of your health and demand a system that supports you."

Listen as Adrienne joins Dr. Taz to discuss her personal health history, how that lead her to become interested in promoting whole-body wellness, and the many things WellBe is doing to advance health for all.
