Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal issue that doesn’t always present with ovarian cysts, despite the name. Excess androgens, insulin resistance and a lack of progesterone are part of PCOS.

It’s best to get lab tests for your hormones. Tailor your approach to treatment based on those results.

Lifestyle changes can help you manage PCOS. Keep your blood sugar balanced. Get plenty of vitamin D. Sleep and stress levels shouldn’t be overlooked.

Supplements may be of assistance. Magnesium and zinc will help with hormonal balance. White peony could help with ovarian cyst issues.

A modified paleo diet is a good start for nutritional changes. Eat one pound of vegetables a day.

Listen as Dr. Brooke joins Dr. Taz to discuss how to manage PCOS.
