Gun Safety & Your Children: Keep Them Safe
The prevalence of gun violence is increasing and many children are killed or injured each year.

We discuss who is at highest risk, and the particular risk to adolescents in terms of suicide prevention. We also discuss what the American Academy of Pediatrics believes is necessary in legislative and regulatory approaches to protect children from gun violence.

If you own a gun, what do you need to do to make sure your children don't access it? Is it enough to keep it out of reach on a high shelf?

What about guns at your child's friends' house? What questions do you need to ask? Do gun awareness training programs for children work?
