Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. In fact, according to the American Cancer Society, about one in eight (approximately 12 percent) of women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.
Prevention is the best way to slow (and stop) the spread of breast cancer in women. Keeping up with your annual mammograms and speaking honestly with your doctor about any changes with your health can also help catch breast cancer early.
