The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) recently published a report which looked into non-hormonal management of menopause-associated vasomotor symptoms (VMS).
VMS affect more than three-quarters of midlife women and can last between five and seven years.
These symptoms include hot flashes and night sweats.
Even though hormone therapy can be used as a treatment to help ease VMS, it may conflict with other medications or may not be your personal preference.
What did researchers find from this study? are there other options to help treat VMS?
Diana Bitner, MD, joins Melanie Cole, MS, to discuss VMS and options that can help ease these symptoms.
