Coping with a Terminal Illness

If you knew you were dying, what would you do? After being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) -- the progressive terminal illness commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. 

Susan Spencer-Wendel decided to live joyfully and seize each day. Instead of complaining or spending her last years in a hospital, the mother of three went to see the Northern Lights and even took her 14-year-old daughter bridal dress shopping to experience that special mother-daughter moment. Spencer-Wendel chronicled her celebration of life and her experience with ALS in the book, Until I Say Good-Bye: My Year of Living with Joy.
