Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin.
At one point, psoriasis covered 90% of Dawn Liebovitz's body, creating the incessant need to itch. She felt shame and embarrassment and ultimately avoided all intimacy with her husband.
Thanks to treatment, however, Dawn is comfortable in her own skin and able to lead a happy, normal life. She shares her advice for anyone living with psoriasis, including how she found an effective treatment regimen and how she managed to repair her marriage by treating her psoriasis.
Dermatologist Dr. Edward M. Kramer, MD, also speaks on the variety of different types of psoriasis, as well as symptoms, similarities and differences between eczema and psoriasis and the best treatment options.
