Immigrant children represent the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population.
One in every four children in the United States lives in an immigrant family.
Eighty-nine percent of these children are U.S. citizens.
But many immigrant children experience significant barriers to their health and well-being. Children of immigrants are nearly twice as likely to be uninsured as are children in non-immigrant families.
This can prevent children from receiving appropriate preventive care and medical treatment in a timely manner.
