betancourt resizedDr. Joanna Betancourt is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She obtained her medical degree as a Physician Surgeon from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela.

Upon completing her medical school training, she attended the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL, where she trained to become a pediatrician. During her residency program she participated in several initiatives that promoted pediatric health and well-being throughout Chicago.

After completing her residency, Dr. Betancourt went into private practice and in 2004, she founded and established Salud Pediatrics, a pediatric practice in the western suburbs of Chicago, that delivers comprehensive outpatient care to the pediatric community.

In her free time, Dr. Betancourt likes to spend time with her husband and three children ages 14, 10 and 6. She also volunteers for a local children's organization.
