Think about how many hundreds (or thousands) of dollars you've spent on skin care products over your lifetime. The creams, scrubs, oils, moisturizers... the list goes on and on.
Unfortunately, these often high-priced skin care products are not helping you in the least. In fact, with all the chemicals and toxins they contain, they may actually be harming your skin.
So, what's the answer?
Dr. Ginger joins Andrea and Lisa to explain that beautiful skin doesn't so much depend what you put on your skin, but rather what you put in your body.
For instance, many skin problems can be addressed simply by eating healthier.
Start with plant-based foods, such as fruits and vegetables. Try reducing the amount of dairy, sugar and grains that you eat. Even after just a few weeks of changing your diet, you will start to see a difference in your skin's appearance.
And, instead of using chemical-laded products, try lotions and moisturizers with simple ingredients.
If you can't pronounce it, don't put it on your skin. Even one step further? If you can't eat the ingredients in your skincare products, don't go anywhere near it! Try coconut oil and shea butter for a simple yet effective moisturizing agent.
You can also improve skin health by dry brushing. This method gets your lymphatic system energized, and also helps with immunity.
