Guest Bio: Dr. Iliana Sweis, MD

Dr. Iliana Sweis is the director of the North Shore Center for Plastic Surgery, Ltd. located in Northbrook, Illinois. She is also Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. In addition, she is a faculty member of Allergan's Physicians Network for Botox Cosmetic. Dr. Sweis is a distinguished member of the National Council of Leaders in Breast Aesthetics, an Allergan organization that recognizes plastic surgeons for their expertise in breast augmentation.

Dr. Sweis earned her medical degree at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She completed a residency in general surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Northwestern University. Dr. Sweis is a diplomat of the American Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Sweis is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons & American Medical Association. She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgeons. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, she has been cited by Consumers Research Council of America as one of the Top Plastic Surgeons in America. In recognition of her surgical volunteer work in the Middle East, she also has the honor of being the recipient of Jordan's Award of Highest Distinction, bestowed by the late King Hussein I of Jordan.

A contributor to the medical literature, Dr. Sweis has had articles published in such journals as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Journal Quarterly, American Surgeon, and several others. Dr. Sweis is also the author of the book, Outsmarting Mother Nature, A Woman's Guide to Plastic Surgery.
