While the holidays are supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, they oftentimes bring an enormous amount of stress and unhealthy habits.
Famed actress, Kelly LeBrock, is back on Naturally Savvy to share some ways you can be prepared for the holidays in the coming year.
For instance, she says that family gatherings can be a huge source of stress and discomfort, particularly when certain family members don't see eye-to-eye. So, try to hold a number of parties and gatherings that separate the members that don't get along.
Did you overeat this holiday season? Next year, in the morning and early afternoon, drink a lot of water, which will make it harder to fill up on food later in the day.
Watch your alcohol intake if you're feeling down or depressed, even though it may seem like an effective way to escape. When you imbibe while holding these emotions, it's easier for people around you to "push your buttons;" whether it's intentional or not.
Try to take it easy... Americans don't take holidays like individuals in Europe, where most countries allow six weeks (at a time!). Down time allows your body to go into relax mode, which is essential for health and wellness.
Finally, make decisions for yourself. Do things that make YOU happy. Kelly rides her horses, spends time with her family, and makes time to think, reflect and live in the quiet.
