Cecelia SandersCecelia Sanders has been working in the field of aging for over 30 years, starting with Senior Services Associates in 1985 doing Information and Assistance, leaving 12 years later as Coordinator for the Kendall County office and Associate Director for the agency.

During this time she wrote a weekly column for The Beacon News in Aurora IL, which also ran for a time in the sister paper, the Elgin Courier in Elgin IL.

She then worked for The Salvation Army Golden Diners, a senior nutrition and Home Delivered Meal program, from 1994 to 2006 as Community Liaison, writing grants, doing fundraising and coordinating volunteers. During this time, she wrote a bi-weekly column on senior issues for The Daily Herald.

She is retiring as the Marketing Coordinator for Sunnymere of Aurora, Inc., a non-profit, Independent and Assisted senior living community located in Aurora. In addition to marketing, she also wrote grants and planned and coordinated the fundraising activities.

Over the years, she wrote applications for several awards for the organizations she worked for, as well as for civic organizations she was involved with.

She has also been an instructor for the Waubonsee Community College Lifelong Learning courses, on the "5 Wishes" program.

Whether you want to admit it or not, you are getting older.

Getting older comes with a handful of responsibilities, some you'd rather not deal with, such as deciding on a living will or setting up a trust for your loved ones if you were to pass.

You might think it's too soon to consider constructing a will, but life as you know it can be pretty unpredictable. Anything can happen at any given time. Wouldn't you rather be prepared than leave loved ones behind, scrambling for answers?
