Do You Really Need to See in Color?
Although our distant ancestors probably first used color vision to find fruit in trees, it's still very useful to us in the modern day.

Host of The Wizard of Eyes, Dr. Robert Abel, discusses the origins of our ability to see color and how it relates to other senses. He also shares information on colorblindness and vision in animals.

Even though we all have photoreceptors called rods and cones, we all see colors a little differently. What you see varies due to your genetics, light, hormones, and eye problems that interfere with color vision.
