    Heads Up on Concussions
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). It can occur after an impact to the head or after a whiplash-type injury that causes the head and brain to shake quickly back and forth.

People hit their heads all the time... during impact sports, car accidents, or falls.

Most of the time, the injuries aren't serious; but, it can be hard to know for sure. That's why every head injury should be treated like a serious injury until a doctor says it's not.

Symptoms of a concussion range from mild to severe and can last for hours, days, weeks, or even months. If you notice any symptoms of a concussion, contact your doctor.

Host of The Wizard of Eyes, Dr. Robert Abel, shares important signs and symptoms to look for after you or a loved one has suffered a head injury.
