Clean Snacks for Summer
Whether you're heading to the beach or trying to keep your kids' tummies satisfied when they're home on summer break, it's essential to have some healthy snack ideas on hand.

Caryn Sullivan is a wife, mother, former media professional, cancer survivor and creator of PrettyWellness.com.

Pretty Wellness chronicles tips and tales on making the journey toward optimal health easy for her and her family. She traded in diet sodas, toxic make-up, and a chaotic routine for green juices, clean products, and a more-Zen lifestyle.

In this segment, she shares some of her top ideas for healthy summer snacks.

  • Hydration is important, but avoid sugar-laden sports drinks. Instead, create your own fun drink with infused water (strawberries, lemons, limes, cucumber, watermelon).
  • Fresh fruits are easily portable (bananas, apples, avocados), and veggies with side dips like hummus or guacamole can be filling and hearty.
  • It's not realistic to get rid of ALL the packaged foods, especially if you're running around with your kids. Aim for nutrition bars with minimal ingredients, seasoned popcorn, and chips prepared in avocado oil (or another healthy oil).
