5 BBQ Dangers & Clean Eating Fixes
Barbecuing can be a healthy way to cook, but you have to make sure you're doing it right.

Michelle Dudash, Chef and Clean Eating Expert, is back on Clean Food Network to share tips for making your next BBQ the healthiest it can be.

1. Charred foods have been suggested to be carcinogenic. Use only medium or medium-low heat. Marinate your meat or crust it with herbs and spices in order to create a barrier between the fire and the meat.

2. Salads with a creamy base can spoil and create an environment for food poisoning. Instead, make vinaigrette-based salad. Put salads on ice. Also, make sure to use a thermometer when cooking meats to make sure they're fully cooked.

3. Clean your grill really well each time you use it. Invest in a metal grill brush.

4. For grilled corn on the cob, rub diced avocado on the corn instead of butter. This will save you calories and fat.

5. Find ways to add healthy antioxidants to your BBQ. Use fresh chopped herbs and fresh vegetables and fruits instead of chips and other unhealthy snacks.
