Joan-ManuscoJoan Mancuso has been living with metastatic breast cancer since 2007. As a volunteer at SHARE she answers the helpline and facilitates a national, telephone support group for those living with metastatic breast cancer.

Joan also contributes stories about scientific research for advanced breast cancer to SHARE’s Mets Matters newsletter. She is an advocate and represents SHARE as a consumer reviewer for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program and reviewer of scientific grant proposals at Columbia University’s Institute for Cancer Genetics.

Joan is also a member of the Breast Cancer Translational Center of Excellence at Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania, where she reviews clinical trial design. She also has a seat on the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium, where she represents the Abramson Cancer Center group. Joan is an affiliate member of the American Association for Cancer Research and a graduate of their Scientist Survivor Program.
