Shriver was inspired to found the organization in part due to his aunt's existence with her own intellectual disability. That aunt? Rosemary Kennedy (sister to John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, and Shriver's mother, Eunice).
Currently, Best Buddies is comprised of eight programs that positively impact more than 1.1 million individuals worldwide. The organization is active in each of the 50 United States, and operates accredited international programs in nearly 50 countries.
Listen as Shriver joins Dr. Bond to share how the history of the organization and how it has grown into an entity that has such a worldwide impact.
