An opportunity to learn more from the plants themselves led her to Horizon Herbs and southern Oregon, where she fell in love with gardening and seed-saving.

Alexis then returned to Bastyr University as their Garden Supervisor and directed the Certificate in Holistic Landscape Design program, teaching students to create healing landscapes with medicinal and edible plants.

She has also coordinated several educational events including Bastyr University's Herb and Food Fair, the American Herbalists Guild's 23rd Annual Symposium, and an upcoming conference benefiting United Plant Savers to be held at Herb Pharm in June 2019.

Notes from the Herb Whisperer
Herbs offer a natural, effective, long-term approach to wellness.

Whether you want more energy, less anxiety, better sleep, improved immunity, digestive ease, or to support the different organs in your body (brain, lungs, heart, liver, etc.), an herbal approach is one way to achieve your health goals.

Whereas synthetic vitamins are often not properly absorbed by the body, herbs work biologically with your body to support healing and overall well-being.

Some ways you can incorporate herbs into your daily regimen are through liquid extracts, tea, or using herbs and spices in meal preparation.

Listen as Alexis Durham, Herbalist & Botanical Affairs Supervisor for Herb Pharm, joins Andrea to discuss the healing benefits of herbs, which herbs are the best for different conditions, and what makes Herb Pharm special.
