Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS is a hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgeon
treating orthopedic problems with Hand & Wrist, Arm & Forearm, Elbow, and Shoulder, at Badia Hand to Shoulder Center in Doral, Florida. He also the author of the soon to be published book Healthcare in the Trenches. Dr. Badia studied physiology at Cornell University and obtained his medical degree at NYU. He runs an active international hand fellowship, serves on the editorial board of two hand journals, and organizes a yearly Miami meeting for surgeons/therapists that is devoted to upper limb arthroscopy and arthroplasty. He is a founding member of the American Hand Institute. Dr. Badia founded OrthoNOW®, a network of orthopedic urgent care centers in South Florida, which is staffed by surgeons from the International Orthopedic Group (IOG). Dr. Badia lectures around the world on upper extremity orthopedic surgery.
