EP 1041B - Electric Aspirin: How Non Invasive Nerve Stimulation is the New Pain Killer

Before reaching for pharmacy tablets, consider NVNS for fast-acting pain relief for a variety of symptoms. A new non-drug alternative to pharmaceutical approaches, non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (NVNS) therapy uses a gentle electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve, one of the body’s main communication pathways, to safely and effectively block pain signals.

The vagus nerve is key to regulating how the brain and body understand pain. For migraine sufferers, a gentle, non-invasive, electrical stimulation to this nerve can mean the prevention and treatment of their headache. Dr. Staats will discuss how the vagus impacts the body, the science behind its relationship to headaches, and why migraine sufferers can’t get enough of the latest at-home, noninvasive treatments safely utilizing this powerful nerve.
