EP 41 - The Importance of Nutrition in Cancer Care, Part 2
There are so many uncontrollable elements when one undergoes cancer treatment.

Jessica Iannotta advises that the one thing that a patient can control is nutrition. Consuming nutrient-rich foods that the body can tolerate can improve cancer treatment success.

Nutritional tips for cancer patients:

  1. Eat small, frequent meals. This allows for continual energy and reduces the distress on the digestive system during chemotherapy.
  2. Seek out a nutrition partner via your local cancer center. A registered dietitian on-site might help you develop a personalized nutrition plan. The letters CSO indicate a certified specialty in oncology nutrition. Every medical center has someone who can aid with a nutrition plan.
  3. Keep a food diary. This makes it easier to track what works for you. Share your findings with your dietitian.
Listen as Jessica joins Dr. Bond to share nutrition tips for cancer patients.
