Practicing Ayurveda: Balancing Your Mind, Body & Spirit

Ayurveda is the traditional alternative medicine practice in India. In fact, Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic practices, and believes that everything on the earth is connected through a balance. Your overall health depends on how well you balance your emotional, spiritual, and physical health with the rest of the Universe. When something is out of balance, that's when you're prone to illness.

At the age of 28, Michelle Fondin was living a normal -- and to her knowledge -- incredibly healthy lifestyle. However, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Just like that, her life as she knew it was over. Even though she sought out western medicine for treatment, which included surgery and a radioactive iodine treatment, she wanted to ensure nothing like this would happen again.

That's when she started looking into practicing Ayurveda.

What does practicing Ayurveda consist of?
  • Diet
  • Cleansing
  • Herbal medicine
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Exercise
  • Massage
Fondin joins Dr. Mike to discuss her personal story in discovering Ayurveda, and how you can incorporate this holistic practice into your life.
