Jeffrey Marchi

​​Jeffrey Marchi was born in San Francisco in 1947- the second of four children and the fifth generation of our San Francisco family. He started working at IBM in 1966 and went on to a 25-year career in computer programming. After 25 years,  Jeff started a computer consulting business and eventually had over 100 clients. In 1995, while running his consulting business, he was offered a part-time job with Microsoft - to help introduce Windows 95 and MSN to the world.  Jeff worked with MSN for five years, running the Hardware, Windows, and Macintosh forums. 

Jeff retired at 67 when he got tired of servers going down, clients not backing up their systems, rescuing computers with viruses, and the final problem, the ransomware attacks. He had one client get all his data encrypted but luckily Jeff had a good backup and rescued him without any loss of business or data, but Jeff didn’t want to have to encounter this again. He had had enough. 

Jeff was then diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010. He had surgery and a few years later radiation because the cancer came back. In 2017, Jeff started on a medication called Lupron - which is well known for causing hot flashes. He suffered greatly with continuous hot flashes for about a year - until he found out about Depo-Provera which can greatly reduce the incidence of hot flashes for men with prostate cancer. Four years later (early 2021), he started another medication called Zytiga - as his slow-growing cancer had reoccurred.  That greatly increased the number of hot flashes along with the intensity.

It was in 2021 when he was also introduced to the Embr Wave device which can stop hot flashes as they occur. This has helped him greatly, and it stopped the hot flashes from being a major limitation in his life.
