Dr. Zarate is also on the teaching facility for Internal Medicine at the Canton Medical Education Foundation Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Zarate and his wife, Dr. Jocelyn Zarate, M.D., established the Zarate Medical Group in San Antonio, Texas in 2006. In November 2007 they were voted as San Antonio's top doctors in S.A. Magazine.
