Tom is a Level-3 coach with USA Cycling and is a member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. He is based in CT. He is the author of several fitness books including Beat the Gym.
Working Out with High Blood Pressure
According to the CDC, 67 million American adults have high blood pressure.

That is one in every three of us - 33%.

Why should you be concerned? Well, having high blood pressure greatly increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, the first and third leading causes of death in the United States.

Exercise can help lower blood pressure but if you have hypertension what do you need to know before beginning a workout plan?
