Are You Using Your Skincare Products in the Wrong Order?
You may have your morning and night skincare routine down to a science, but might you be putting on your products in the wrong order?

Go-to beauty expert, David Pollock, is back on Naturally Savvy to help you get the most benefit out of your skincare products... when it comes to both results AND your pocketbook.

Step #1:
Cleanse every morning and every night. Some people might ask, "why wash my face in the morning when I cleansed it the night before?"

As you sleep, you shed dead skin cells. To make room for the new skin cells, you want to use a cleanser with a light level of exfoliation. This will also help prepare the skin so the next step is more effective. Use lukewarm water (never hot water) and a soap-free cleanser for best results.

Step #2
This is the most critical step, but many people get it wrong by thinking that after cleansing you should moisturize. In fact, your step #2 should be to use a serum. Serums can minimize pores, increase hydration and build collagen. Use just a couple drops and massage over your entire face and neck area. You should allow the serum to absorb about a minute before you put your moisturizer on.

Step #3
Here's where moisturizer comes in. It will help seal in the serum as well as provide necessary hydration.

Step #4
Apply an eye cream. It's important that you don't use your moisturizer as an eye cream. Your eye area is a delicate spot and moisturizer can weigh that area down.

What about toner? David says that toners are not necessary and are a wast of money. Toners are marketed to "remove impurities." But, if you cleanse your face well, there should be nothing left to remove.

Tune in to David, Andrea and Lisa as they discuss the important steps of skincare and the correct order in which to do them.
