Healthy Steps: GMO Companies Profit Under Guise of "Feeding the World"
If it's hot in natural health news, Dr. Ginger is on the case.

In this edition of "Healthy Steps with Dr. Ginger," she discusses what's happening in the world of natural health.

GMOs "Feeding the World"?

It's hard enough identifying GMOs in the foods we enjoy in American, but imagine if you were poor and genetically engineered foods were presented as the only option?

Many of the bio-tech companies that produce GMOs are going over to countries like India to feed the poor with these foods. Their intention seems to be to promote GM foods in underdeveloped countries under the "helping the poor" guise.

More and more foods are being genetically modified. Currently, corn, soy, cotton, alfalfa, papaya, canola and sugar beets are all being replaced with lab versions of the same.

New on the docket are GMO bananas "enriched" with more vitamins. For the most part, produce hasn't been affected by GMOs, but that seems to be changing.

These bio-tech companies have a lot of money and will do everything and anything they can to sneak GMOs by you. It's your job, as a savvy consumer, to do everything YOU can do to be conscious of their tactics.

Bras & Breast Cancer: What's the Link?

Over the past 20 years or so, there have been studies conducted on the link between bra-wearing habits of women and breast cancer risk.

One particular study showed that women who didn't wear bras at all had the same risk of developing breast cancer as men (low risk). The research also showed that the tighter the bra and the longer worn, the higher the risk for cancer.

Research has also shown that fibrocystic breast disease can be improved/lessened when bra time is reduced.

It makes complete sense, if you think about the anatomy of that area of your body.

There are lymph nodes in your breast tissue and under your arms. However, they are quite sensitive to pressure and the compression caused by under-wire bras. This stagnates circulation and lymphatic drainage, prevents cleaning out wastes and toxins and cuts off oxygen paths.

Fortunately, there are companies that are designing new bras to minimize the constriction.

Tune in to Dr. Ginger to learn more about these topics, as well as what you can do to be a conscious consumer.
