Evergreen Medal Winner Inspires Healthy Little Changes
It can be daunting to look at the world of environmental health and all that is wrong with it, especially if you have people constantly in your ear saying, "Don't eat that!" or "That product is SO toxic, I can't believe you still use it."

Making the switch to a healthier lifestyle doesn't have to be so overwhelming.

In fact, says Kristi Marsh, you can make little changes which will eventually make a huge impact.

Kristi always thought she was living a healthy life. She just assumed that since she was regularly going to the gym, keeping up on the latest superfoods, and had a handle on how to keep her children healthy, everything was going swimmingly.

Until she got a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Throughout her radiation treatments and rounds of chemotherapy, she came upon a realization as she literally watched her body heal and rebuild from the inside out.

The realization was that our bodies have he potential to do that every single day if we give them the tools to do it effectively and efficiently.

This started Kristi on a whole new way of thinking when it came to her health; not just in terms of food, but also with her beauty products, cleaning products, and the things she was bringing into her home.

To combat the overwhelming nature of taking this on all at once, start to look at the changes you want to make as a challenge, not a burden. Take one product in your home and replace it with something better than what you were using (or eating) before. Take a look at what you can focus in on your own apartment or home -- from your kitchen to your personal care products -- and the immediate things you can do to make an impact; rather than getting caught up in the massiveness of the big, wide world.

Keep on this journey, one day at a time, and soon you'll make a huge difference.

It's not expensive to make these adjustments, either. With a little bit of education and knowledge, you can make smart, healthy choices at little cost.

And, when you make conscious choices, people around you are learning as well. You can "share the wealth" and act as a role model for others.

Listen in as Kristi shares some of the little things you can do to make an immediate change in your health and the health of your loved ones.
