Hot flashes, mood swings, and vaginal dryness are just some of the life-impacting symptoms that occur when a woman’s hormones are out of balance.

In men, the symptoms tend to present in the form of erectile dysfunction, low libido, and a lack of energy. These hormonal imbalances can occur at any time in your life, but tend to happen most often later in life, especially around the perimenopausal or menopausal stages.

Fighting Lowered Hormone Production

Eventually, your ovaries lose the ability to produce the same levels of sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). According to Dr. Susanne Bennett, “the health of adrenal glands will be the limiting factor that will determine if you transition well during menopause.”

The adrenal glands really kick in once the ovaries slow down and produce a great deal of hormones, including the stress hormone cortisol and DHEA. Stress level, inflammatory foods, gut health, level of activity or inactivity, and sleep quality can all affect how well-balanced your hormones are.

Harder to detect but also present are estrogen mimickers that can be found in everyday plastics and products.

All-Natural Remedies for Menopausal Symptoms

During the early stages of perimenopause or menopause, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may not be the best choice. Instead, Dr. Bennett has some helpful, natural remedies that may help treat hormonal imbalances.

Gemmotherapy, which originated from France, involves harvesting plant stem cells to create a natural remedy consisting of embryonic plant tissue. These remedies can be very powerful, and need to be taken in small doses. The stem cell contains the properties of the entire plant, and includes a great deal of nutrients, minerals, and ribonucleic acids.

Taking gemmotherapy formulas can help reduce hot flashes and improve your sense of well-being. Often, the formulas will include extra antioxidants to help reduce inflammation and breast tenderness.

Another natural formula you can use to treat hormonal imbalance is 7-Keto-DHEA, and Dr. Bennett recommends you use it in cream form, since it can be much easier to adjust how much is applied. 7-Keto-DHEA helps the body produce sex hormones, which tend to decrease as age increases. It can help lower cortisol levels, ease menopausal symptoms, and regulate estrogen and progesterone, while preventing estrogen dominance. 7-Keto-DHEA has been shown to be effective at reducing symptoms of not just menopause or perimenopause, but also andropause, the male equivalent.

A powerful supplement you can add is sea buckthorn, which has been shown to improve moisture within mucous linings. As a woman ages, the vagina can become dry, easily irritated, and unable to create enough lubrication. This can lead to pain during sex, and bladder or vaginal infections.

Taking sea buckthorn can help improve with moisture and elasticity. Other mucous lining tissues such as the eyes, mouth or nose can also benefit from sea buckthorn, and after a few months even your skin will feel healthier, with less visible wrinkles.

Dr. Susanne provides natural remedies, recipes and much more so that you can effectively fight infection, avoid sickness and keep your body as healthy as possible. In this week's edition: Are you feeling tired and moody? Have a growing belly and a low libido?
