New Aspirin Recommendations for Heart Disease & Colon Cancer Prevention
Internist Dr. Keith Roach of Weill-Cornell Medical College joins Dr. Darria to discuss the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s new recommendations on aspirin.

The new guidelines suggest that some people who have never even suffered a heart attack should still take a daily low-dose aspirin to prevent heart attacks and stroke, as well as colon cancer, despite potential risks of deadly internal bleeding.

The USPSTF says adults in their 50s who have a 10 percent or greater risk of heart disease over the next 10 years should take a low-dose aspirin daily.

Listen in as Dr. Roach shares more information about these new recommendations.
