The Many Benefits of Bone Broth
Did you know that bones are basically 50 percent protein? Cooking them in a broth extracts the protein and amino acids -- like collagen, glycine and glucosamine -- that are then converted by your body into energy, stronger muscles, and a more effective immune system.

Bone broth is unique in that it utilizes ingredients that are rarely used but that produce a great deal of collagen.

Collagen does a whole host of amazing things for the human body:

  • Skin: Bone broth promotes healthy skin and improves the skin’s elasticity, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, helps wounds heal faster, and protects against the signs of aging due to sun damage.
  • Joints: Increasing the amount of collagen in your body can also improve your joint health. Collagen can help rebuild tendons and ligaments which can lead to less inflammation and a decrease in joint pain.
  • Digestion: One of the highly touted benefits of bone broth is its positive effect on digestive problems – particularly leaky gut. Collagen can help to improve the structure of the gut by restoring the stomach lining. This is an issue faced regularly by people suffering from IBS, inflammation, and celiac disease.
Listen as Justin Mares, Co-Founder of Kettle & Fire, joins host Lisa Davis to explain all the benefits of bone broth.
