Spring has sprung. These three “D” health hacks will help you make the most of it.
Vitamin D
The CDC has discovered vitamin D deficiency is the third most common deficiency found in testing. You need 5000 IU of vitamin D daily for bone and immune health.
Vitamin D can be found in the sun. Twenty minutes of sunshine daily will help, but you have to get sun without the sunscreen. Keep your personal skin sensitivity in mind.
You may consider taking a hearty dose of vitamin D. Once weekly doses are available.
Destress
Unplugging is necessary in the busy world. Meditation is common worldwide. You don’t have to imagine mountain ranges. It can be as simple as thinking about your breath. Three to five minutes per day is very helpful.
Stress increases inflammation. Exercise is great for battling stress.
Whatever you do, make it part of your daily routine.
Declutter
"Spring cleaning" has that label for a reason. Ditch expired pain medications and antibiotics. Don’t pour them down the toilet. Take them to your doctor’s office, pharmacist or the police for disposal.
Clear out your refrigerator. Refill with food from the perimeter of the grocery store.
