Sean Sakinofsky is definitely a unique character, to say the least. As a youngster he wanted to rival Mikhail Baryshnikov. and took up ballet in his late teens, he then discovered the racing bicycle and hung up his dancing shoes for cleats.

Throughout Sean’s life, he was always involved in shooting sports, where his late father used to take Sean to the gun range every weekend.

Sean’s fascination with arms continued throughout his life and he entered into the arms and ammunition trade during his twenties where he became an advanced small arms instructor and even worked for the leading handgun company called Glock.

Post his arms and ammunition career he did a small stint at a logistics company for people traveling to and from Antarctica. It was here where he decided to launch his first supplement company which he later left owing to his change in direction with regards to macro nutrition. Sean doesn’t believe or use conventional carbs for fueling.

Over the years he has been identified as a leader in style on the bike, founding an apparel brand.

He is also at the forefront of adopting what he refers to as a truly sustainable energy source for cycling, that being his choice of macro nutrition, which is primarily fat and is known as the KetoGenic diet.

He has proven its profound benefits with ultra-endurance events which have involved traveling over 200km and even spending up to 9hrs on the bike without the need for refueling. He well known for being an inspiration and a motivator. A practitioner of minimalism and find peace in solitude.

With the above being said he has also gained respect amongst some of the leading brands in cycling @sean_sako meticulous attention to detail which he refers to as an obsession for his equipment is his rationale for aligning himself with the brands in which he chose. They did not choose him.

His authentic approach to marketing and brand exposure has given rise to the LWCC.

Now, Sean is "cycling's antihero," with a focus on long ultra-endurance rides, and founding an apparel company SaKO7 in Cape Town, South Africa. 

Sean doesn't believe in the common practice of carbo-loading before huge athletic events and will talk to us all about nutrition for ultra-endurance events, his thoughts on the keto diet, and his passion for cycling
