With summer right around the corner, you may be wanting more than ever to lose a little weight. After all, it's no fun to hit a pool party when you feel self conscious in your bikini.
So, what are some ways you can fire up your fat burn this season?
Dr. Lori Shemek has the answer.
Weight gain is the core cause of low level inflammation... this slows your metabolism, which makes you put on more weight, and the vicious cycle continues.
How can you combat this inflammation?
First, get rid of all the toxic foods in your life. Throw all those processed foods away.
Second, understand there is a balance between the intake of Omega-3 fats and Omega-6 fats. People are ingesting far too many Omega-6 fats, found in corn oil and products as well as processed foods.
To get more Omega-3 fats, incorporate more foods into your diet such as salmon, walnuts, grass-fed beef, organic eggs, and avocado.
Third, get rid of the sugar in your diet. Eating too many sugary foods and drinks sets you up for a sugar addiction, and also increases inflammation. This includes High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), and even too much agave (which also contains a lot of fructose).
If you like to bake, however, brown rice syrup is a great sugar alternative, as is Xylitol (non-GMO variety). Whatever you do, don't use artificial sweeteners.
Finally, you have to implement exercise into your life. The human body is meant to move.
